About the program

The Automotive Apprenticeship is looking for eager, hard-working individuals willing to face the challenge of the growing demand in the automotive field.

Training takes place in both the workplace (employer's shop) for hands-on learning during the day and at the local community college for classroom learning during the evening for two nights a week. Upon completion of the apprenticeship program's on-the-job training and school requirements, you will receive a State Trade Certificate issued by the Division of Apprenticeship Standards, State of California.

Benefits of the program include paid education, paid vacation, health & welfare, six-month advancement, dental/eye care, retirement/pension, and a 401k program (not available in all areas).

The minimum age requirement for the program is 18 years; there is no maximum age for the program. In addition, you must have a high school diploma or have passed the GED exam. You must also have a valid California Drivers License and you must pass an entrance examination.

Wages start at 50% of Journeyman. Applicants, upon meeting the minimum entry requirements, will be given a list of employers.

If you are interested in joining the program, please note that you will need to be hired at one of our participating shops as an apprentice or eventually promoted to apprentice. We cannot accept applications that are not current employees.
